In this age of digital hyperconnectivity, I can’t help but be impressed (and thrilled!) that I’ve been able to see friends that I taught with in Huelva since we all moved on to different places after that year. We’ve reunited in Jane’s Seattle, back in Spain, my stomping grounds, and now Matt’s current city: Burlington, Vermont.
Land of cult-ish craft beers, maple syrup, and people wearing outdoor gear everywhere, Burlington didn’t feel so different from home. We walked on the lake, brunched along to some bluegrass, watched the sun set from the fire escape, and caught up over as many Heady Toppers as we could find. Thumbs up, Burlington. It was rad.
Thanks Matt and Emma for the hospitality (and Travis, too!) — til next time!
