We’ve been called coma city and the town that fun forgot; a dull government town, and we won an award for Canada’s most boring city (from a Toronto group, duh). All that, of course, is silly and way off. We Ottawans might have a little chip on our shoulder when it comes to our city’s reputation, but we know how vibrant the capital is.

This past weekend I was thrilled to be selected to take over Ottawa Tourism’s Instagram account. They put me up in the historic Lord Elgin Hotel downtown, and I set out to share bits and pieces from my adventures around the nation’s capital.

There was so much going on this weekend I had a hard time picking my outings — a big thank you to my partner in crime for putting up with me snapping pictures all weekend and for running around playing tourist with me. Thank you very much to Ottawa Tourism for setting this up, everyone who followed along, and to the Lord Elgin for the great home base. The weekend just reaffirmed my love for my hometown. Ottawa, je t’aime!
